Just got a couple of really good bookshelf speakers for 39.99...
Surprisingly good actually...

Now, bear in mind... you do get what you pay for.. and I've scene refrence monitors go for as much as 8,000 "PER SPEAKER" but thats so far out of my league I can't see it from here... but these would normally go for a hundred buck or more a pair...
so not bad for what I need it for..


Up until now, I've had a "Scratch and Dent" mis-matched pair my dad gave me..
My dad has a store back on the rock... and occasionaly, stuff woudl get damaged during shipment... To their credit, the shipper would make good for it.. and sometimes take the damaged gear back.. but sometimes they'd make good for it, and just let you keep the damaged gear... Its how I got my "campfire" guitar... Which is actually a "not bad" Samick But the speakers.... well... I had One techniques with the corner smash, and One Radio Shack Mach 6000 with the front Kicked in..

I've had them for years.. and each, on its own.. a good speaker.. but together... mis-matched, not so good for mixing... and very Heavy on the lower frequencies too...

Anyway.. Now I get to chuck those, and clean up the Studio a bit..


But that creates a small problem...



I was also using these speakers as a place to put stuff... Like my Mixer, Telephone, Star Trek
Enterprise NCC-1701-D Replica, and my old Roland TR-707 that still works...



So I've spent half the nite re-jigging where stuff is, trying to make it as easy as possible to access, without having wires all over the floor... Good news, is that I finally found a practical use for my old patchbay.. that I picked up used Really Cheap along with a headphone distribution amp and i get to put these old speakers to the curb... Only downside is that I need to pick up two new cables next... but thats just goes witht te territory...

But I'm not throwing the speakers out... They've served me well for.. cripse? has it been that long? I've had them since.. um.. 91? ish?? wow.. Anyway.. I'm gonna give em away to a buddy who is also starting a small basement type studio, and doesnt have any speakers at all yet... I'm sure he'll eventually replace them to, and pass these on in turn. but thats how it goes.. We Music addicts pass this stuff on like Karma...

I still got a little Peavy bandit amp a guitar player named "Paul" left here back in 2002.... (dont know his last name but he was here at a Party once.. Decent Player, and decent guy too) So If your reading this Paul.. its still here.. I'll deliver it to ya if you ever want it back.. I tried to get the message to ya, and had heard that you said "Just keep the damn thing" I almost gave it away once, and likely will someday, but in the meantime.. it sits here, on the floor, with other Miscellaneous Paraphenallia... Sometimes I even use it as a rehersal amp.. or as a kitchen party amp... Not too loud, but gets the point accross when you don't need to be loud...

Anyway.... its almost 1, and I gotta work in the AM... good thing I got my suit ironed and ready to go already...

I think when I retire I'll have a suit burning party ... hmmmm happy thoughts...
