HELP!!!!!

Day 1 Success! Just a little drama at the last minute

Well, I've already said how much I loved the new job... Love it even more now!.. they have been soo good about me taking time off for the house and all that... Whew!... after the year we've had... I think we've been pretty lucky overall... I really love it when a plan comes together.. lol..


anyway.. we got the keys to the new place... its gonna be a lot of work, paint, etc... but man.. I just LOVE it!

We made a few Mini van plus car loads today, and asked for help with some heavy stuff... well... we got a CONVOY...

Mike and Michelle Brought not one but 2 trucks, Johnnny D, had his Armada loaded with stuff.. plus our two...

In total we got out 3 Mini van Loads, 2 Mitsibish loads, 1 Nissan Armada, and 2 pickup trucks which translated into a LOT of STUFF there already... and we have more time... this is gonna be work, but it will go easy...

only fly in the ointment just came to me from the Oil Mafia... Opps, I mean irving....

You see The house has an oil fired hot water heater... thats a rental... its only 17 bucks a month.. but they want you to sign a commitment to only buy oil from them... NOT.. (ha... just reminded myself of Boart)

Anyway, I sent off my contract today for the rental, but crossed out that section.... well... they were not pleased... and sent me a long email that I just finished reading... ok i didnt read it all, I skimed it, but I got the jest of it... to which I replied, and politely...(NOT) told them "you can come get and collect your water heater"... and I'll buy a new heater.. and Buy my oil from Steve's Affordable Fuels... (431-Heat)

Besides the fact the owner of the company is a buddy, He has GOOD Prices save enough off my oil from affordable fuels (431-Heat) in a tank or 4 to get my money back.... screw Irving!!!!! (shouldnt have said that.... now the Irving oil mafia will come get me...) ha ha..

Music is a Drug!

So I come down stairs tonight.. all gun ho for the next installment of Entourage, but Im an hour early... its not on till 11, and its only 10...

So... do I continue the last 200 pages of the book i've been reading all week (ok, its Harry Potter, Halfd Blod Prince... I've already read it once, just refreshing m memory getting ready for the next installment) or go in to the Studio and bang out another keyboard track for Jon Mathesons new cd.... the Studio won.. Entourage's been over now for about 20 min.... I've still not seen it.. still in here.. mixing down the last 2 tracks I did to MP# so I can hear it in the car tomorrow...

Fuck I Love this stuff...

Anyway... its late. tomorrows a work day... but oh well.. Its why we work isn't it.. to support the Fun stuff??

it was one busy weekend, to say the least..

I kicked off my weekend with a little dumpster diving for boxes...

Yes... Im not too proud to dumpster dive...

We've (ok, Trena's) been packing boxes almost every nite.. Even with the loads of boxes the Box ferry's been dropping off each nite we still needed more.. (ok, there's no such thing as a box ferry... just a good friend who's been dropping some off from his work each nite)




I cant believe it...

jeepers... I just typed a play by play of every boring thing i did this weekend, realized how dry it was and just hit DELETE...

so here's Cole Notes..

We packed, we drywalled, we ran errands.. we went to a party, we packed some more, we had company.. we ran some more errands, and we went to the Blue Cross Fund Canoe thingy Fund raiser... where The rain PISSED down like back in Noah's day... .... But they had LIVE music, so it was all good... and some stuff for the kiddies.. but I was really excited to hear the bands.. they were REALLY KICK ASS!!! and Im not just saying that!!!

I got to hear ROCKSHOW, Pursuaders and Kung Fu Tree's

And I'm pleased to say that even my 2.5 year old daughter thought they were great ... She was quite content to stay out in the rain to listen... Mesmorized by live music she is... Makes my heart all warm and fuzzy!!!

Anyway... then it was inside to warm up.. get some eats and a few double rums for daddy (moma was my D.D.) and chasing the little one around the hall for a few hours... She ran so fast I couldn't get the dam camera phone thingy to focus... which, for the purposes of this blog is just ducky, as I'm leary to put pics of her on here anyway... especially current ones..

But all in all.. a great time!


so now I got to finish up this studio stuff, and go pull Entourage off the DVR.... I know its late.. but I wont sleep anyway...

TMN / HBO gets a shot of Redemption!

Not sure if anyone besides me and Mark watch Entourage
But the new season Premiere started off with a Bang!

Not only did it air two weeks after the last season finale, saving me from a summer of boredom) but it kicked ass!!!

I think shows like Deadwood, the Wire and Entourage are far better then even the best Season of Soprano's (and thats not just sour grapes over the finalle, I liked Soprano's, but it was tired, these shows are "fresh" for lack of a better word)

My ulitmate fav being Deadwood, Entourage ranks a close 2nd... and is narrowing the gap...

Anyway... far to much to to to blog about TV ( ha) just had a second, thought I'd share that if for no other reason then you'd know I was still around all 7 of you HA!

Soprano's Season finally

In short...... It started good.... Middle, good... Ending???


Well, I thought it Ate Ass!!!!!

I could rant, but its just TV, but lets just say I was grossly dissappointed..

No Closure, not even a hint...

and thats that...


So thats it...

David Chase disapointed us all... So much for the fans

Personally, i think it was a cop-out... maybe he had writers block, or something..

Im just disapointed.. So much so that Ive decided that if I see any project, movie or TV with his name attached to it... I'll just choose to Not watch it.. Not that my one little viewer stat will make a diff.. but maybe we can start a trend!! A David Chase Boy-cott..

oh well, I could always just cancel HBO

Maybe I'll start watching Simpsons again... they never let me down..

Oh, by the way...

the 2nd annual Xmas Jam party has already been booked for Dec 29th 2007....

Some changes from last year...

For 2007 we will have a full pA with lights, and most importantly a dedicated sound man to run it....

Also... last year we raised a few bucks on the jar, but by an large, I was out of pocket for the PA rental...
And a lot of good musicans took time to come out and play... I think it'd be nice to at least have a few bucks to buy them a beer or 3.... So I'm toying with the idea of charging a set min for a cover charge... and I'm open to suggestions as to how much...

I was thinking 10 bucks a person?? take out for the PA/sound guy and share the rest equally among all the musicians.... but we got lots of time to work out the kinks..


So if your interested in playing.. let me know your set up, tunes.. and how many in your band...

ah.. the good old days.. back when Chicago was actually a KICK arse band with Horns, and all that jazz..... well, it wasnt jazz, but it was good music...

No ones putting out tunes like that anymore... 8-45 or 6-4, Color my world....
too expensive I guess.... everyones into that techno stuff anyhow....

where the hell did that come from? sometimes the stuff tht pops in my head actually frightens me a little..

anyway.. Just got back from visiting Steve, guitarist for Full Circle... he's laid up with a broken foot since the Cancer Chairty gig.. but is in good spirits... evne looks like Our Singer might be staying in HFX afterall!!! yee-haw!! to soon to say for certain, but theirs hope...

in other news, this facebooks stuff is kind of wearing off... it was cool at first, but now its getting old... too much like work.. lol anyway.. wait, I already said anyway once... Jeesh.. Should have paid more attention in english class... maybe I'd have learned some better segways.. oh well...

took me two nites to mow the lawn... gets damp as it gets late.. but it looks some good when she's all done... I'll miss this place... but such is life..
